PACE is a non-profit community support service organization that provides support services to adults with disabilities who are committed to living independent lives. PACE provides support services to more than 350 individuals, who have a variety of disabilities. We operate 7 supportive housing sites where people live independently along with a Community Outreach division that provides support services in people’s homes.  PACE has been accredited with Accreditation Canada, since 2010.  PACE achieved the highest rating of Accredited with Exemplary Standing in our last survey in May 2022.

Position Overview

PACE is looking for an energetic and highly engaging Program Manager who brings strong coaching, influencing, conflict resolution and motivational skills to build a highly engaged workforce and exceptional client and family experience.

Reporting to the Director, Client Services, the Program Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the provision of quality support services to clients with physical disabilities in the Toronto area and leading approximately 50 unionized front-line staff.

The Program Manager works with other members of the PACE Team and other community service providers consistently demonstrating and promoting the philosophy of “Independent Living”. 

This position is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.  Given the nature of the role, some weekend, evenings and on call work (approximately 6 times a year) is required.  Currently the role is working out of the Henry Lane Program (Lower Jarvis/Th Esplanade).  Based on client needs & operational requirements PACE may transfer you to other PACE program locations in the Toronto area.    

What You’ll Do

 Program Management

  • Manages day-to-day operations while ensuring optimum deployment of people and quality program services in accordance with clients’ service agreements, client satisfaction levels and legislated targets.
  • Works closely with clients and families to address all needs and concerns with appropriate resolution.
  • Defines Key Performance Indicators for program performance and service delivery to ensure Client Service Plans are delivered.
  • Fosters and manages partnerships/relationships with other community service providers to help promote the PACE brand.
  • When required, represents PACE on interagency committees and works with other community service providers in promoting the philosophy of “Independent Living”.
  • In collaboration with the Director, implements strategies to expand service delivery in accordance with the Ministry of Health Master Service Agreement.
  • Collaborates and participates in the development and meeting of annual Organizational Goals and overall Strategic Direction.

 Financial Management

  • Develops and manages operations within approved budget.
  • Approves department expenditure requests including maintenance of Petty Cash.

 People Management

  • Manages all staffing issues including hiring/termination, scheduling, attendance management, supervision, performance management, training, and maintaining a positive and engaged working environment.
  • Ensures program operations follow Occupational Health and Safety guidelines including the organization’s policies and procedures.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

  • You have a recognized Degree/Diploma in healthcare, community care, social services or other equivalent work experience.
  •  You have 3-5 years of program management experience, preferably working with disabled adults who may exhibit challenging behaviors (i.e. mental health, addiction, and other inconsistent behavioural patterns) and leading a unionized multidisciplinary team.
  •  You are a role model for a positive workplace environment and bring strong coaching, influencing, engaging and motivational skills to lead a multidisciplinary team who delivers exceptional client and family experience.
  •  You are a self-starter that can work independently with minimal guidance, driven to achieve efficiencies and able to operate in an unstructured and fluid environment by using strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills to address issues.
  •  You have a strong interpersonal, empathy and sensitivity skills to interact and build on-going relationships with diverse groups of clients, volunteers, employees, and key stakeholders.
  •  You have a passion for making a difference and helping people.
  •  You have strong Microsoft Windows skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and are able to pass a valid Police Reference Check (vulnerable persons).
