PACE is a non-profit community support service organization that provides support services to more than 356 unique clients who have a variety of disabilities, i.e. multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, mild acquired brain injuries, muscular dystrophy and Huntington disease.
PACE’s services to clients are provided in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of ‘Independent Living’, which means that a person with a disability is best able to define their own needs, and with appropriate support services, direct resources to respond to these needs. It is the individual's right to live with dignity in their chosen community and to participate in all aspects of their life.

PACE became an accredited agency with Accreditation Canada in 2010. Accreditation Canada is an organization that works with health care organizations to improve quality, safety, staff and client experience and satisfaction. PACE uses Accreditation Canada’s program as the basis for continuous quality improvement. In May 2022 - PACE was once again accredited with "Exemplary Standing" which is the highest recognition standing.
PACE provides personal support services through our Supportive Housing and Attendant Outreach programs.
The Supportive Housing program provides essential support services to eligible adults living in eight supportive housing sites across Toronto. PACE staff are available to provide support 24-hours per day, seven days a week, for pre-booked daily services as well as unscheduled, urgent services at each of these locations. Clients live in their own apartments and have an independent tenant agreement with the landlord for their apartment.
PACE also provides Enhanced Supportive Housing for adults that require assistance in directing their services. Enhanced services are available only at our Edwards Manor program, for those living with the effects of an acquired brain injury (ABI) and at our Yonge Street location. Support services at these programs can include personal, general and wellness assistance, and for clients with an ABI, are customized to address individual life skill, cognitive and behavioural needs associated with the individuals’ ABI. PACE staff can work with each client to develop care plans; to set goals that determine the scope of the individual supports to be provided and will provide information to clients to assist them to make healthy and safe decisions about their services. Life skills assistance in areas such as banking, shopping, nutrition, and education are also provided.
PACE’s Attendant Outreach Program provides personal support services associated with the activities of daily living at the client’s home, school or workplace. These services are provided on a pre-booked basis throughout the Greater Toronto Area from 6:00 am to midnight.
